Dr. Shannon L. Meeks, MD, is Section Chief of Hematology and a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She also holds The John and Elaine Mitchell Chair in Hemostasis and serves as a Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Meeks specializes in hemophilia A research, focusing on modifying factor VIII to prevent immune responses that lead to inhibitors, and understanding the immune mechanisms that predict and influence treatment outcomes. Her work has revealed a diversity of B-cell epitopes on factor VIII, leading to innovative approaches in predicting and managing immune responses in patients.
