Dr. Catherine M. Broome, MD, holds the position of Associate Professor at the Lombardi Cancer Center's Department of Medicine, where she is dedicated to educating the next generation of physicians. In addition, she actively contributes to hospital safety initiatives as a member of the Safety Committee at MedStar Health, focusing on developing programs and policies that prioritize patient safety. With over a decade of specialized experience in hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Broome currently practices at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology. Having served on the staff of this institution for thirteen years, Dr. Broome is a fervent advocate for clinical research, with specific interests in ITP, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, cold agglutinin disease, and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. Her significant contributions to research have profoundly influenced the treatment philosophy at the Lombardi Cancer Center.
